The Barna Group recently released a study of how Protestant churches in America are using eight technologies to reach their communities beyond the walls and communicate with the congregation within the walls. Barna looked at how churches are either using or are not using these technology tools:

*Large screens for video imagery
*Showing movie clips, and other video segments during church events
*Sending email blasts to the congregation
*Operating a web site
*Offering a blog site for interaction with church leaders
*Maintaining a page on behalf of the church on one or more social networking sites
*Providing podcasts for people to listen to
*Receiving programming and training via satellite
